Dr. Seymour is an award winning artist, researcher and author. She has directed university departments in the areas of Instructional Design and Institutional Effectiveness (Planning & Assessment), and holds a Doctorate in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from Utah State University. As a scholar she has presented papers and published multiple articles and book chapters in the fields of arts-based research, female leadership, learning theory and student learning assessment. As an artists, she has been represented by galleries in Utah, had a book of her art published by Sterling Publishers, exhibited in top art festivals throughout the United States, and won Best of Show awards in Utah, Colorado, Arizona and California.
Currently she lives as an artist and writer on Camano Island, WA, with her youngest son and German Shepherd. She also substitutes in the Camano/Stanwood school district and her current areas of interest are in developing resilient learners through body awareness, and creating optimal learning environments through an understanding of positive mental attitude, imagination, and elevated personal standards.
